We now have both. It depends to some extent on the biotope. Although in some places they meet together.

Tonight I was walking with my daughter and was lucky-I caught Agyrtidae? castaneus on the fly.At first I took it for a flying Aphodius. But because of the cold, the latter can not be seen.

We've had solid +20s all day today, even now it's +15C in the eveningsmile.gif, so the summer continues for now smile.gif

Porokatilsya for the city today, in principle, there is no special activity of living creatures yet, I have not seen daytime butterflies(but all sorts of leaf wrappers and other "moths" fly in droves), T-shirts are very few, and in general there are not enough insect animals yet. I want to believe that it's just that she hasn't woken up yet, well, or knows that from Monday it will still get colder, nefik climb out smile.gif

In the pictures there is an interesting shot with camponotus-tree ants, this is the usual Camponotus fallax, the interesting thing is that when I was getting close to take a picture - the ants were peacefully basking in the sun and when I brought the camera too close, they all rolled over on their backs and began to see their acid spray. The peculiarity of the situation was also in the fact that they were on a horizontal surface, and on a vertical one they never do that, only they lift up their bellies - they know that they are falling! ))))

Also in the picture, our "blind scolopendra" is similar to the ringed one, only smaller in size, and without eyes.

Today on the last day of the last warm period I took a walk along the slopes of the Ingul River smile.gif
It was really hot, it was the hottest day for the entire period, the temperature was probably about +25C, the slope was protected from the wind, in general, as a result there was heat, and I dressed with the prospect of cold weather, rain and overcast, and it all came only two hours ago, when I was already I came home))))

Of the butterflies, I saw a bunch of daytime peacock eyessmile.gif, about 1st on 2-3km of the way, in general, about 5, three rapeseed whiteflies, one like a turnip, and one burdock!

And of course - snakes, skids, lizards, yellow-bellied skids did not want to be filmed smile.gifIn the pictures you can see green lizards and water snakes. Hyacinths and irises are already beginning to bloom, fruit trees are still not blooming, and Bug tulips are just about to bloom.

Especially for Danmar-straight wings!!!! )))))) And not even larvae, but adults, true adults, but small, only about 1 cm, but bouncy and live in the swamp smile.gifThey can probably still play Tetris (hence the namesmile.gif), well, jump after them in the swamp chob take a picture.

In the flood swamp near the river - croaking, singing and cricketing toads, jellyfish, frogs smile.gif

At the very bottom of the photo is not just a group process of green toads, it also turned into a necrophilia campaign, since the lady turned out to be dead, the ardent cavaliers simply, mmm, zadolbali her with their love!

Good day!
6.04.12 Musson_max and I left for Brovarsky district, Kiev region. Caught near an oak grove on the outskirts of the village on the First of May. At the beginning of fishing, the temperature was about 10°C, 4 hours later it dropped to 4-5°C, the full moon did not please. The flight time is quite good for this time (36 butterflies for two), although they didn't catch anything special. 4 males of Biston strataria, 8 males of Apocheima hispidaria, 1 male of Phigalia pilosaria, Xylena vetusta, 2 Orthosia gothica, Eupsilia transversa, several Orthosia incerta, Orthosia populeti in the mass and several more as yet undetermined scoops. Photos of the entire catch and my share are below.

I went to the forest park for a ride in Kiev. There were a lot of ants and a lot of spiders. I saw some mottled butterflies, like Nymphalidae. And some cabbage leaves, lemongrass like. There were a lot of small beetles, both ground and some other bumblebee, there were a lot of them, there were a lot of bees, there were also a lot of flies, then it became overcast and all this disappeared. I found myself a T-shirt smile.gif.

Today, Andrey (ulik) and I visited a new location. This is a gully in which the Terenair stream flows-a right tributary of the Small Salgir. In the morning it was very wet and quite cool.On the way to Yayla, we met an Aboriginal named Vladimir. He was tending a flock of 500 sheep.Thinking that there would be nothing left to catch after this horde, we changed our route a bit.As a result of turning away stones and examining rotten beeches, they were found:of the ground beetles, there are two species of carabus and two species of calatus, also lebia and lemostenus;one nutcracker, a pair of weevils, two species of horsemen, one grinder, one species of hornbills, and one onthophagus. From butterflies to Andrey's great regret, nothing. They observed dark caterpillars of some bears.

IMHO, the wrong place for butterflies was chosen. They are now somewhere where the climate is warmer - on the South Coast or on the cuesta on the line Sevastopol-Bakhchisarai-Simferopol.

Actually, the goal was Erebia afra(along the way there were open slopes, the beech forest was lower), as well as pyadenitsy, for them the place is the best). n. o. m. height-about 500 m

For afras it's still too early. Now, unless only somewhere on the South Coast (Solnechnogorskoye), you can try to look for the first males. In the Feodosia region, in the warmest places, it comes out in the second decade of April, and in the Simferopol region, I think, somewhere in early May, not earlier.

And today I went for lizards, from entomological I can only add this picture of purpurea ))) The main thing is that I followed her into the ditch, and out of the ditch, and crawling, but it turned out that they are already pooolno flying everywhere)))

There are no swallowtails and podaliris yet, and in general, everything looks certainly not like summer, you have to admit, the gardens are not blooming, but what a number!!!
By the way, I looked at apricot trees-it's terrible. There are very few buds, a lot of dead branches, but the cherries are not damaged at all, and the grapes that I looked at are also whole.
There are VERY VERY few whiteflies. Just disastrous. One rapeseed whitewash at 35km )))
