Short report... 7-8. 08. 2015 Belarus Grodno region 1.3 km South-West of Zelva settlement.
The weather is hot during the day +34-36, and in the evening it becomes easier +25-27 and without wind.
The goal was to catch Thumatha senex and Laothoe populi females, which is exactly what happened. I flew a lot, but I didn't discover anything new for myself, although I was pleased with Abraxas grossulariata. The last time I caught it was in 2006, after that it never caught niraz's eye.

Catocala fraxini-class. I've never seen it here. I wonder what they eat there, in the NPP, maybe alder in that piece of forest.

I actively mowed and sowed it, but I didn't seem to get it. In the area of May, I think it is necessary...

And the plantain is thin... Is it P. salsa or something else? I'm confused that it seems like on the salt places in theory should be, although similar...
Very dry... the chalk dropout rate is very poor, it was on the third day (or rather, it will still be).

yes, it is better to look for tithiuses in the first days of May, I have the biggest catches - on May 9

19/08/2015 was in Stepnaya balka. I went first of all to check the number of swallowtails. There were no swallowtails, but there were other interesting butterflies. The weather is cloudy, not hot, so it's comfortable to go hiking now.

Diurnal butterflies are mainly polyommatus bellargus, polyommatus icarus, aricia agestis, Pieris rapae/napi, colias hyale/alfacarisnsis. I also saw one burdock. From the grass fly out all sorts of moth, presented below in the photo.

I didn't know that Coscinia striata gives a second generation.
"Berries-joster laxative" - excellent! Now I know exactly what the lemongrass food plant is. It's good that I didn't eat them, but only tried them.

I was also confused by the shape of the front fenders, in a flattened form.

Lythria - both purpuraria.

And how to really distinguish them?

It is difficult to formulate - well, look at the Germans:

Yes nifiga =)

22.08.2015 23:47, Vlad Proklov

I'll try to formulate it all the same =)

There, you need to look at which sling the median red sling merges (or approaches) (going from the costal edge):
- with internal-purpuraria
- with external = cruentaria

23.08.2015 0:35, AGG

I like the old Polish key about the width of the sling wink.giflook, and even on the most worn copies you will understand what it is about (the fauna of Poland is in the public domain) when the eye is trained, you can see "automatically", but at first these two types are easy to confuse
