Today in Moscow, snow fell briefly in some places, for example, in Zelenograd)

Holy shit.
Mid-April my ass!

There is a chance that on Friday it will be even worse!)) Nothing, the main thing is that the heat release from the southeast is realized on May days, and let some people freeze! tongue.gif

Today, not far from the Krylatskoye metro station on Marshal Timoshenko Street, a male eastern May crunch was lying around, unsuccessfully fighting with someone's shoe. I also came across a few of the same Carabus nemoralis.

After all, they deliberately put pressure on you. Definitely.

By the way, in continuation of the offtop from the Ural theme-no one knows in the MO a more or less large vereshchatnik located not in a swamp (not like Gennadich's in Poplar)?

In Tugolesye. This immediately comes to mind. Straight along the railway on the southern side, slightly forward in the direction of Voimezhnoye.

I also remembered a good vereshchatnik near Luzhkov not far from GNP-see the picture.
How many Callophrys rubi were there along the sandy clearing!

About 15-20 years ago, on the way to Dubna, something similar was seen. Exactly that not in a swamp, but in a sparse pine forest. There are even yagelniki there.

This is very interesting, it would be more precise, and that direction on the one hand is very poor, although poorly studied, on the other - the most interesting ones are there (not counting the swamps, where I probably won't climb...) it is pine forests, since they are the only areas, according to the forest map, similar to Meshcherskie, but located outside Meshchera. I know for sure, thanks to all sorts of Yandex-Wikimapies, that such forests sometimes run along the southern bank of the Dubna River between the mouth of the Veli and the R-112 road, but you can't get there.

In a photo like spring? And the heather? Maybe it's Erica (carnea)? Not a new view for the region, by any chance?

It's like not quite, but rather we suck not heather, but low bean, also known as "wild almonds". wink.gif We will also soon have a disbanded

Yes, you're probably right. From a distance, it really looks like heather, in general, I also thought that erica (heather), but in terms of colors, if you zoom in, it really looks more like a low bean.

01.05.2016 21:18, ИНО

Without any "rather" - this is a bobovnik. And you probably don't have any heather, or if you do, it's very rare. Northern is a plant.

My beetles that mate are probably Chrysolina sturmi (Westhoff 1882), but I don't know yours.

So this, it turns out, is a fairly large genus of leaf beetles-Chrysoline, there are several similar ones, and maybe there is an adjacent genus similar, but they clearly differ in legs smile.gif

Pan obviously got into a great deal of conversation today, since at first he took Gennadich's beetles and his own for the same look. At least look at the color.

I'll add more photos from our expedition.

Snake in the end - the Amur runner. The key word here is "Amur". His appearance in Lishnyakh will remain in the category of unexplained mysteries of our life, noting that the Tula Exotarium is located 40 km from the place of capture.

I will also add a little. One of the most interesting things for me was the capture of Orthosia miniosa, I had not caught it before. And so one commonplace thing came to light.
During the day, a couple of taus are marked, and Adela cuprella is seen on the maple flowers. In flight, Trox sabulosus was caught.

Still yes, clearly similar, same paws), and the size is yes, about 4 mm

But the Shrenk's skidder is serious, it is unlikely that the presence of an exotarium played a role here, maybe it is the discovery of an isolated population far from the range. It may be artificial, but it is very old and numerous, just like that such runners do not lie on the road umnik.gif

It can't be this time of year. Last year's one, with exit holes.
And what kind of bronze? What is the current shape of metallica?

The ooteka is very much alive. The larvae are still there.
And the bronze can be Protaetia metallica, and maybe even cooler than Protaetia fieberi.
The beetle is collected.

North of the Moscow region .

"Dismantled", the other day, a compost heap.
As a result, about 17-20 bronzefish larvae were found (approximately) on 1.5 cubic meters/m of soil. By the way, in the center of the compost pile, under a layer of 50-70cm, a lump of "permafrost"(from winter) wassmile.gif.
The photo shows only part of what you found.

This is the first time I've seen this in Russia

What is it? Mating two-pointers or the fact that the male and female, as a rule, this color?

06.05.2016 15:50, AlexIva

I fished a little at the dacha at the beginning of the holidays. Of the daytime ones, only aurors flew, and the rest were overwintered. At night, April species gradually give way to May ones, and many fresh, high-quality specimens fly. Among other good butterflies, we managed to catch a large number of Orthosia miniosa. The sun shone for two nights and several butterflies flew in each, and there were more females than males. Thanks to such a large number of butterflies, some of their photos also turned out.
