Gentlemen, Tell me, please, if anyone knows about bulavousykh on Valaam. I'll be there in the first half of July. That year I made a fool of myself, I didn't hold any major collections, and I brought only one beetle - P. metallica. I remember flying A. ilia, L. populi and E. ligea. A lot of cute pigeons flew, but I won't say I didn't catch the view.
This year I'm going to have a good fishing trip there, tell me who knows if there is something like that there, and in general your impressions of the entomofauna of this wonderful island are interesting!

Entomologist brothers ! Tell me, who knows, phenological bindings and mnemosyne. We, in the Tyumen region, have a point , but it's useless to go to an empty one several times from me, and I don't have time , and I can't get there once for a year. Yes, and the years are different in terms of the onset of spring...

Hello! Recently, I was told that in our Kherson region, after all, there is a half-breed perelivnitsa. I know that it exists in the Zaporozhye region and in the south of Russia.

Tell me, please, when is her peak summer, when does the summer end?
And search only in the floodplains of the Dnieper, where there are many willows?

19.07.2014 13:16, Alexandr Zhakov

Do you have Apatura ilia? When I checked Zaporizhia, they were all Apatura metis.
Yes, in the Zaporizhia region, it is recorded only in Plavnevyh forests along the Dnieper River. the time of summer is June-July, they say about August, but I haven't seen them.

I don't know. In general, I haven't seen any perelivnits yet.
But I think we should try to bait the bait. They are mostly kept in the crowns of trees.
Last year, Polygonia c-album and admirals flew to the bait on the North Crimean Canal.

Hello. In August, I plan to go to Primorye. Who can tell you anything about endemic lepidoptera? Are there any known fishing spots for Alcinous and Sericine Montela? Interested in both nocturnal and daytime butterflies.

21.07.2014 21:19, ааи-48

In Primorye, in the Oktyabrsky district, there is the village of Zarechnoye, which is located at the foot of a mountain with the interesting name Senkina Shapka. If you cross the ridge from the village and go down, you will find yourself in a valley with lakes and small rivers. I caught Sericin Montel there in 2012. There were dozens of them in the puddles, but they were all males. In total, I saw 3 females like this-as they sit modestly on trees and are difficult to notice. Years in that year began together with the Maaks-in the first decade of July and before my district-on July 16. so I don't know if they will be in August. In general, Primorye is a fabulous place for entomologists!

Good people! I was lucky - at the end of June - in the form of gus Aglia tau - And now what do I think - I then took it for an experiment-I only waited for the butterfly in April-May - OR it would have happened EARLIER at home??????. And now what-in the summer to go there and shake the lime trees on which it was seen????? Thank you.

it might have happened, but they need at least a short-term (several days) cooling to 0 - (-5)

Arudu: you can go there for the May holidays, the male is likely to catch, or at least see. The females are much worse. You can try to get to the light, but she never came to me, although the males flew in swarms during the day.

The female tau was born at the end of April 2014 near Kiev. The first time it shone in the tau biotope and arrived, broken a little. I took eggs - more than 30, I was not lucky with the caterpillars - as a result, only 2 pupae hibernate. Males also flew to the light that night,but did not fly to my colleagues.

10.01.2015 12:50, I.roK.ez

Well, you still have spring coming early. We have at the end of April hardly, if only the first swallows. And at what time approximately the female arrived, was it not recorded?

I arrived as soon as it got dark.I assumed she was sitting in the leaves of the hornbeam trees that grew nearby - I noticed her when I went down to the screen.

Greetings! Comrades, tell me, please, where in the Krasnodar Territory, preferably closer to Krasnodar, you can find a Mourner, I can not find it (

15.02.2015 13:48, Portifon

GUK, thank you) in this picture, after all, not all habitats are marked, otherwise it's too far to go there alone! Question : is there a Memorial service in Goryachy-Klyuchevsky district? Maybe someone knows

15.02.2015 15:09, Valentinus

In the Caucasus, the mourner lives near the upper border of the forest on birches and willows.
As far as I can see, there are no such communities in Goryachy Klyuch.
The nearest point of discovery is the Lago Naki Plateau.

A long time ago, back in the late 80's, caught on the railway line Krasnodar-Goryachy Klyuch. There are two copies of the mourning book from Molkino station. By the way, there were very wonderful places there. Now, probably all sold for cottages. I also recommend visiting the next Saratovskaya metro station. I didn't do much training here, but the places are different. Theoretically, there should be a mourning bag, but I haven't met it. In any case, try the bait ( I've been throwing cat droppings around). In any case, you will not lose out. There are a lot of interesting things in these two points.

Thank you very much! I will definitely check these points, besides Saratovskaya was in the plans for this year)

Hello! Spring will soon come, and with it the flight of spring moths and shovels. In this regard, the question arose, where is the best place to look for them?:

1) sandy steppe;
2) sandy steppe with trees;
3) steppe gullies;
4) bayraks;
5) parks with willows, poplars, maples, ash trees;
6) smooth forests.

I myself think that options 2, 4, 5, 6 are better, but Lycia zonaria eats scabiosa, and scabiosa grows simply in the sandy steppe.

In the Crimea, I met Lycia zonaria caterpillars only on a penny.
Butterflies can be found during the day. You need to search in cloudy weather. Males sit on grasses and shrubs, I have repeatedly met sitting on the northern, shady side on the bushes of elongated wheatgrass (pictured). Females were found twice - on a rock and on the ground.
Also, Apochima flabellaria should be flying by now. Its caterpillars eat parasol (Klaus ' parsnip), aster (dubious goatgrass). I found males twice during the day. Once on the same elongated wheatgrass, the second time on a concrete fence.

You can also look for Boudinotiana puella - in the swamps, maybe parks, in general, where poplars are.I don't promise you'll find it ,but you can try it.I once wanted to go for a ride in the floodplains of the Dnieper to look for it, but the time is not right now.. There are in Transcarpathia and it seems to be in the Dniester canyon.

Boloria euprosyne.
In mid-August, second-generation butterflies were flying in Georgia.
Has anyone else recorded a second generation in this species?

I saw euprosyne in Borjomi (900 m) and Atskuri (1100-1200 m) in late July-early August, but whether this is the second generation is unclear. Borjomi copies were already broken.

This is the first generation. Butterflies of the second type are collected on August 18-20, fresh, recently hatched. By the way, along with them flew fresh Melitaea caucasogenita-a species that was known for only one generation. And I was also pleased with the second generation of Aricia anteros.

19.02.2015 19:18, Valentinus

There are August collections from the Moscow region.

From the Moscow region is unlikely the second.

19.02.2015 20:19, Wave Storm

Dantist, interesting. We have mostly black poplar trees, and especially a lot of its artificial plantings along the left side of the Tsyurupinsky bridge. There, however, the fire was grassroots in September, I hope it will not greatly interfere with the life of the species.

okoem, beautiful places are there for you. I have never seen such thickets of kopeechnik here.

20.02.2015 17:59, Valentinus

I understand that the second generation of evrosina is optional. Some caterpillars skip the wintering stage and continue to develop, but these cases are very rare.

11.03.2015 19:44, Sergey Rybalkin

That's right, so I got a male fresh dawn in August, and an aspen hawk moth at the very end of August. And all this in the Urals, and the summer was not hot.

Good day to all! Who can tell you when, due to the emerging t° pace in Moscow (and the region) this year, you should go for lanestris?

30.03.2015 15:56, Sergey Didenko

if on Easter it will be plus 12-14 degrees in the afternoon and at least plus 5 at 22.00, then I think they will fly. But the main thing is not when, but where smile.gif

Domodedovo district of the Moscow region. Hopeless?

01.04.2015 11:16, Sergey Didenko

It's hard to say, because the fact that it hasn't been caught there yet doesn't mean that it doesn't fly there. But in my opinion, the chances are very modest. In Meshchera, you need to go, for example, to the peat bogs to Gennadich smile.gif

I met them in the Kherson region on April 11, 2014. I haven't seen it yet this year, we have rainy days now. When it gets warmer-16-20 degrees in the daytime-then, I think, we should go out.
