I'm like a separate branch of this generation rolleyes.gif, well, I didn't find this book, and I don't have time to read
, it would be better just to explain the principle of filling in the software in more detail eek.gif

Sorry, but if you don't have time to read, so how are you going to "get interested" in entomology?????
Maybe others also have no time to explain the basics twenty times?
I'm still waiting for Dmitrich to break the club of popular anger?

Young man! My patience has really run out. Dependents like you are still to be found. The desire to give you advice personally has completely disappeared from me: I regret spending time with people who don't have time to read. Especially if they are at such a young age.

I am also 15 years old, but I find time to read. What about without reading? Probably your biology teacher has some books on insects, or you can look at something in the school library, etc. I also started with the wonderful books "Your collection", "Entertaining entomology", "Young entomologist". Then I turned to more serious literature. Again, through your biol teacher. you can reach out to someone who is a specialist.

read only if after the season is over, and right now just a bunch of problems, and I'm here for some in the photo here, even ground beetles are pasted on a cardboard box, this is up to what size of beetle can it be pasted, and not pasted?

You can see that Mr. Collector has seven people on the benches, the cow is under-fed, the piglets are not fed. Here it is clear, you can read only in short minutes of rest in the office of thoughtfulness.

Well, this friend will come to a specialist, well, ask a smart question, "how to collect insects"? Well the sun will answer: read Kozlov, Nienburg first. And in response to what, again it will be: "there is no time for these readings"? We've seen such shots before. Send a citizen of puberty age in pointed shoes. He should pick up a topic, a brat. They left me to wait in the study, which was lined with shelves of literature. And the child in the mobile phone dear stared, and all interests.

"Cartons" are called dies. And they write about all this in books, too.

No, this comrade is not a reader. He has a mistake in almost every word, not to mention punctuation.Someone who reads a lot..........
and what does Mr. A. J. Elez think about this, I would like to "hear"

Good!!!We won I'm going to the library tomorrow umnik.gif yes.gif
Give me lists, I'll take everything, I'll forget about the Internet, I'll stop eating - I'll read beer.gif

and about labels, there is such a book on the computer
[attachmentid ()=116535]

but there about labels only here
[attachmentid ()=116536]

That's why I asked

22.07.2011 14:47, Pavel Morozov

Fill out these labels as you please! The main thing is to include in the label the data that you need to enter.
What's the problem? What's so hard about it?

Pancake.
I look at the Collector's posts and topics and get a twofold feeling.
Obviously, the guy has a lot of potential. Observation develops, shows a craving for knowledge. Does he ask a lot of questions? Well, yes, all beginners are full of questions. The style in which these questions are asked is another matter. I only have these associations: "show me how to fill out labels? Don't! show me how cool it will be. That would, like, trump cards were. And then here you have a lot of them, and which of them are trump cards do not sec a fig"
Or in response to comments on the quality of straightening, he answers that he knows how to straighten. Well, yes, let's say he can, but it's a little shitty.

Reading is really useful, it doesn't harm anyone.
In addition to specialized literature, read Pushkin, Kuprin, Chekhov, Bulgakov, and Paustovsky. It will be very useful.
And don't be lazy. Moreover, your favorite hobby can not be combined with laziness.

I never bothered anyone in my childhood and youth. I read Plavilshchikov.
Isn't it interesting to learn the basics of collecting, dissecting, and maintaining a collection, and to learn to identify insects yourself?
In my childhood, there was no Internet. It's good if you get Cornelio and Plavilshchikov. Tykach is generally super. And Koch's "Wir bestimmen Schmetterlinge" was the ultimate dream!

Do whatever you like. You can combine the environmental and geographical information into one.
Kozlov, Nienburg. Your collection. Finally, read this book carefully. There everything is laid out on the shelves.

25.07.2011 17:02, scarit

There is also a wonderful book by P. Marikovsky "To the young entomologist"

2Collectioner

Your report includes several books on collection management, and you visit the best entomological resource on the Runet, where you have already been given comprehensive information about labels. Having all this You can't make up a label?

"I'm dying of thirst over the stream" was written by Charles of Arles in the 15th century. So this is about you!

Make a sample of at least one item according to the principle-the place of collection( country, us. point), the time of collection and the name of the collector-that's all. Put out what happened in this topic and if you get comments and tips, follow them. DO something, but don't scratch your tongue.

Yeah, this is Villon's creation.

Write "Ex larva"

25.07.2011 18:06, Shtil

And if from a naturally collected pupa, then "Ex pupa"

25.07.2011 18:11, barko

And not Francois Villon? Please excuse me.
This phrase was coined by Arleans for a poetry contest in Blois. Thus, there were about a dozen ballads with the same initial phrase. Just today only Villon is known from the French poets of the 15th century, in addition, his ballad written for the contest in Blois is a wonderful work that made him famous.

Good afternoon! The number of labels is chosen by the collector himself. You can write everything on one page. Do as you like!! I use 6 labels per copy for my material.
1) Geographical label (preferably in English)
2)Label with the name of the type (the person who identified the instance is also written there)
3)Label with variability(subspecies, variability, etc.)
4) Etiquette where the sex of the insect
is indicated 5)Label indicating that the insect is from your collection
6)Label with a number(I just keep a database for my collection and it is easier to find this instance in the database by this number.)

In my opinion, you can combine 1 and 5; 2, 3 and 4.
If you use 6 labels, you need custom pins for this, because you will have to use especially long ones.

It is more convenient for me to use 6 labels and a regular pin is enough. I just have very detailed geographical labels (temperature, wind, coordinates, pressure, etc.) and it just won't include everything ((

01.08.2011 21:35, Zlopastnyi Brandashmyg

IMHO, ideally, geographical labels for countries that do not use the Latin alphabet should be written both in the original and in English.

I write my geographical labels EXCLUSIVELY in RUSSIAN.

is this a "response to the aggressor"? Nothing personal, but this way you will only make it difficult for an innocent specialist who does not speak Russian to work.

Gee-gee tongue.gifThe most common wasp-spangle Chrysis ignita has more than 20 synonyms... Is there enough space on the label? wink.gif
The same goes for" folk " names. It is not for nothing that K. Linnaeus introduced the rules of binomial nomenclature, which are now accepted by the entire scientific community...
So, on the identification label, all information, except for the Latin name indicating its author, gender of the object, as well as the last name of the person who determined it with the year of determination, is superfluous.
All synonymy is specified in the catalog, not on each instance.

This is your right, though not an indisputable one. If you don't "like" English, write in any language based on the Latin alphabet. Yes, at least in Latin at all. Then you will be understood everywhere and always.
I had to work with collections that had labels exclusively in Georgian... Thank you at least for the alphabetic language. But what about, for example, hieroglyphics? Have you ever come across Chinese labels, for example? An interesting pastime, I'll tell you. wink.gif
