Well, for example, it is considered that in the fall, in September-October, after 12 it does not make sense to catch, although I left the light on at night for the sake of experiment (after 12) - and in the morning I still collected something...

This is the question about eye protection from UV :
And the dentist's glasses for light fillings are specially UV-protected, aren't they? and if so, is it really possible to get them?

And why?
I'm here in the shop "Techno-Avia"(workwear)
I bought 3 pieces!
2 pairs of 70p (like the terminator=)))
and not for nothing stylish like this... At least wear it instead of the usual ones..

The most interesting thing is that just after 2 nights almost nothing interesting is flying smile.gif

Well, I don't know.
It flies very well. In particular, my favorite crested birds, as I noticed, fly at night as if in two waves - from the end of dusk to 12-1 o'clock in the morning and just somewhere after 2.

It is clear that" interesting " is different for everyone. Just my modest personal experience shows that it is after 2 nights that both the total and specific number of insects arriving at the light sharply decreases. Perhaps this is true only for the middle zone of Russia. What is your colleagues ' opinion on this issue?

It is believed that in early spring and late autumn, the night flight lasts up to about 23 hours. However, in the fall I collected more than once after midnight.

I usually catch up to 12 or up to an hour. In the summer, I often catch fish at my dacha in the Crimean Mountains. According to my observations, there are two peaks of summer. The first is twilight, when I just light the lamp, in fact, this is not even a peak, but just a certain number of butterflies arrive at once, and after that there is a lull, and some such twilight species may not appear later. In order not to miss this moment, I light the lamp almost in a light way.
And the second peak of summer - when in a few hours darkness finally thickens, but the temperature has not yet dropped much, it is about 10-11 pm. When the temperature drops, the years decrease.
As for summer in the dead of night, for example, Phragmatobia placida flies only after one o'clock in the morning. In order not to sit at the lamp all this time, I would go to bed and set the alarm for an hour or two in the morning. Then, half-asleep, he would go to the screen to check - and go back to sleep for two hours, and then back to the screen before dawn. This masochism was not lost in vain, there was something interesting. Including Phragmatobia placida, and the rare Callimorpha dominula.

I've had two of them fly into the world this season. What is interesting - on the coldest nights, when there was no summer at all. That is, an hour or two in the morning, a blank screen - and there is only one dominant sitting on it.
And the net we have them is difficult. That is, you need to climb the mountains all day, and two, and three, and all summer, and it's not a fact that you will meet at least one. And if you meet her, you'll only have time to see her fly off into the trees...

Ahem...
Strange..
We have in the Moscow region in successful years they are well och. a lot...
During the day, they fly up from the bushes from fright...
And in the evening they fly freely (they often fly into the house)...
Here Mr. Solarway will not let you lie, in broad daylight that summer caught a fresh one!!!
So welcome to Moscow for the bears!

Thank you for the invitation:- ) And at the expense of rarity-nothing strange. We have zhezh south, the climate is different. So the dominula lives only on the highest, wet and cold mountain slopes, in forests and gorges. That's where the lamp should light up... Ehhh...

Don't overdo it with dexamethasone!

26.12.2007 14:30, Pavel Morozov

Come on, let the doctor tell you. cool.gif
First, spell burn correctly (not burn)! umnik.gif

Secondly, dexamethasone is reasonable to use with an allergic nature of inflammation. umnik.gif

Third, if a burn still occurs, then taufon is really better to apply in a week.
In the acute phase, you need to drip inocaine and actovegin for 3 days, relieve your eyes as much as possible and do not hang around on the Internet.
In extreme cases, you can drop visin (however, the effect of it is insignificant).
If there is nothing, then you can apply tea lotions. umnik.gif

And in general, I already wrote about it here! mad.gif

I'm sorry... I'm not a doctor...
For what I bought, for what I sell...
They explained to me that after a UV burn, you can get an infection...
And taufon will only feed her!
So the first two have an antiseptic effect...
And taufon, as I already wrote something like vitamins...
I've tried all these medications on myself!
And judging by the result, I was treated correctly!

Вітання з України!

People, a lot is devoted to catching light in the deep forests and steppes with the help of a generator and a battery. But very little is devoted to the topic of innovations in energy production. Staying about 5 years ago in Kiev at a conference dedicated to this topic, I was simply amazed by the number of different devicesjump.gif, Especially attracted by the cylinder with a piston, which was placed at one end in the fire - as a result of the temperature difference, the piston began to trip, releasing a considerable amount of energy. In addition, chemists demonstrated cones with different chemical reagents, when mixed, which released electricity.
In short, people, someone has heard about such "things", maybe even someone uses (sorry, but it's not easy to read all 11 pages of the forum carefully on the right). wall.gif
Such devices as the piston can be carried anywhere, you can even make it from a welder, but you just need to get a diagram ... In short, if anyone has any ideas ... write

21.01.2008 17:27, Bad Den

Really, an interesting topic. But something tells me that the efficiency of such devices is very low...
Anything else with a bike you can think smile.gifof

21.01.2008 17:35, Tyomochkin

Dynamo the engine to the bike, and let's spin! It's about the bonfire... The idea is interesting, but many butterflies are attracted to the bonfire och! I saw for myself! as if the fire did not take on the role of a lamp...

21.01.2008 17:36, okoem

Duc cylinders that are placed in the fire and convert heat into electricity are known, you can buy various modifications on the Internet. But they are only suitable for recharging batteries in a mobile phone, etc. Powerful heat-electricity converters are also sold, but such a thing weighs under a hundred kg, and how much money it costs and eats firewood.....
What you wrote is very vague. Common words. And what will you produce energy from in the steppe, for example?

At the expense of chemical sources of electricity-so batteries and this is essentially chemical sources : -))))))

As for the self-production of the "magic cylinder", I read the description on the Internet as a craftsman made it from aluminum mugs and auto-sealer :-))

Дякую.
As you know, when manufacturing according to all the rules, the efficiency of a generator operating from a temperature difference is large enough to ignite the DRL 125 W, but if you do it randomly, make it from improvised materials, then the efficiency will not be enough. As I understand it, most of these devices are aimed at tourists who just need to charge a flashlight or mobile phone, and shine a 10 W light bulb, but for an entomologist the task is different ... Here it was written that there are sites where you can buy these devices, and which ... ??? And where does it say that powerful ones weigh a lot??? We demonstrated a device smaller than the palm of your hand that produced more than 100 W!!! Say unreal ...???
Then I came up with another idea - about the dynamo-over the hill there are tape recorders working from the dynamo, the principle is this-you start a spring that turns the dynamo-yes, of course, the efficiency is low, but for one light bulb in 20 W is quite enough.
For many years, I have noticed that such innovations are awesome from the very beginning of their development, because you don't have to go far - they have come up with hydrogen fuel, which is cheaper and does not pollute nature ... .. in short, EXCELLENT, but the oil magnates scored, in advertising they say that dangerous, bad ... And everyone believes them ...

Ufft.... eek.gif

The efficiency of the generator operating from a temperature difference is large enough to ignite the DRL 125 W,

Strictly speaking, you wrote nonsense.
Efficiency is the Efficiency Factor. Reflects the percentage of power received to spent, but not the actual power in Watts.

22.01.2008 13:22, amara

So named because the main (due to weight) use is supposed to charge the discharged battery (Battery )in the car (especially somewhere outside the city). But you can also use it for other purposes (there is an outlet). But I don't know how easy it is to fill up a can of hydrogen here in Russia, which it uses to generate heat and water.

I don't catch butterflies coming into the world, but I photograph them. But that doesn't change the point. Began.to do this in 2003. The process was gradually improved as experience gained. I use two options: stationary – at the dacha and off-site with a generator. At the dacha, I put up a 500-watt mercury-free lamp. It is hung at a distance of one meter from the wall at a height of approximately 180 cm. Wall-the lower part is concrete (gray sprayed), the upper part is white silicate brick. I refused to hang out the sheets, as they did not attract insects very much, and there was a lot of fuss with them, and shooting on them was not the best option. In addition, the wall is large and different insects for some reason have a different attraction to light, so it satisfies all tastes. Everything that flies arrives: butterflies, beetles, wasps, flies, ants, goldeneyes, bedbugs, bears, caddis flies, mosquitoes, cicadas, mayflies; some millipedes come crawling, toads and hedgehogs come, frogs jump. I turn on the lamp at nightfall and, depending on the summer, until one or three in the morning. Years go in waves: the first wave until about 22 hours, then the second from 00 hours. Summer activity varies depending on the temperature. A good option if the temperature (in summer) is more than 14 degrees. In the Moscow region, you can shine from mid-April to the end of October.
Exit option: the same lamp, but powered by a portable generator with a capacity of 1.5 kilowatts. Weight 17 kg, AI-92 gasoline, 2 liters is enough for 3 hours. By car I went to the Vladimir region, at the dacha I went out with him into the forest (about 1.5 km).To move the generator, I used a garden cart (a wheelbarrow with a rubber inflatable wheel). The choice of generators is large. I also use Z'nv because it has enough power to run the refrigerator, TV, and lighting when electricity is cut off. I do not know the lamp markings (it is located in the country). I bought it at the Poultry Market for 300 rubles together with the cartridge. I didn't have any problems with my eyes, maybe because I wear glasses, and I don't look at the lamp, but at the wall. As for the X-ray radiation, I usually sit on a chair about 6 meters away from the lamp, and it ends a meter away from it.

What kind of generator do you have, for how long, are you satisfied with it, and what problems (if any)? How much does it weigh? Who in general can recommend the brand and model of the most compact and most silent reliable generator for our needs? I would appreciate any non-advertising information on this subject. I think, not only to me, but to everyone who is thinking about buying this unit. I really don't want to study the market myself, I don't have time.

I can't say for sure: the generator is in the country. Engine Honda, generator French or Italian, output power 1.5 kW, weight 17 or 19 kg, compact, has a handle for carrying. I've been using it for two years now. It winters in the country, but in the spring there are no problems with starting - it starts with one movement. There are also lighter ones on sale (about 12 kg, at 500 W), but I also bought mine on the assumption that it will be a source of electricity in the country when the current is turned off

Шановні Ентомологи та Okoem.

1) About efficiency - wrong, but this term is already used in many situations and is really off-topic.
2) About the generator-the first such devices operating from a temperature difference were very noisy, unreliable, and required a large temperature difference. Later they improved and became better (but now for some reason they are not very popular).
So it's not just about the Pellepier element. It is one thing to invent, and another to make the device high-quality and low-demand.
3) As for the proposed generators. Why do you need 12, and even more so 27 volts for fishing? Such a generator can illuminate a country house eek.gifFor field conditions, 1.5-3 is enough. As for Watts, it's not good that they saved on a step-up transformer (I myself remember how it was converted from 12 watts to 60 on the battery, but how? maybe who knows?).
4) The generator is smaller than the palm of your hand – it worked from the temperature difference (most likely also from the Pelpier element). They demonstrated its work by heating it with dry alcohol – they connected a light bulb – it worked. Although they wanted to start production, but I haven't heard anything about such generators for many years.
5) About the dynamos I will stand to the end-I saw such things myself, and about 10 years ago there was an Australian program dedicated to this topic. They work, they are successfully used, but not everyone knows about them, and it is difficult to get them from us (and maybe even unrealistic, except for "z of distant lands"). The disadvantage of such dynamos is that there is not enough power for powerful equipment, they can only power low-power light bulbs and a maximum of tape recorders.

Ось такі от справи!

PS Is the topic of non-gasoline generators not relevant, is it really only possible to say that it is unrealistic to use other generators? Yes, such devices are rare, they are difficult to get, they are not advertised, they pay attention to generators that use oil products, because in this case they are supported by oil magnates. Pay attention to how cars are promoted on old engines and on hydrogen ones? You can also ask familiar electricians, pros or amateurs about such generators – one person is one thing, and another is a group. Unfortunately, I've already told you everything I knew. If someone learns something new-write.

Всього Найкращого. Long day ahead.

Dear Ecologist, in point 3, you seem to be confusing the units of measurement.
As for the 12/220V conversion, I made a source that converts 12v DC to 220V AC at approximately 20 kHz, at this frequency the lamp lights up (I use an 8-watt bactericidal one) without additional devices,
it takes less energy, since the glow is shifted to the UVL area, in any case, the usual 7 A / h battery lasts for two full nights.
As for the summer, it's probably less than 250-500 watts, but, for example, I can say that using the above lamp plus a lamp from the scanner (mustek-I don't remember how to spell it in their language), its power is somewhere 5-6 watts (the battery runs out for one night), I'm 11-13 October on the light I caught more than 3 dozen butterflies (the places are deaf) at a temperature of 4-5 degrees, in the morning there is ice on the trunk.

Last season, I successfully used a combination of a car battery, an inverter (converts 12V to 220V) and a 55-watt energy-saving lamp (shines at 275). If I don't get a gas generator before the start of the new season, I will continue to use the same system. Everything flies well, but I want to use DRV-250 lamps, and they "eat up" the battery in 1.5 hours, hence the thoughts about the generator.

26.01.2008 2:35, Musson max

Please tell me, I recently bought a Philips ML 500 Watt lamp from a regular rubber band. I can't wait for the season to come. No one caught on such a lamp? Maybe there are some suggestions on its use, forecasts, what do you think about this kind of lamp in general? I will be very grateful for your comments. cool.gif
