Duck, it seems to be Arctia caja-a typical polyphage, on what only does not feed-and on raspberries, and on willows (shrubby), and on many other herbaceous and shrubby plants. Remember what you found, or offer her a choice of several "dishes".

Help me, good people, yesterday I found a caterpillar of the hood (?) on Valerian (!) - took to grow, but today it turned out that she is not a tenant frown.gif
On Valerian, however, she could crawl to die at least from Chernobyl...

Maybe you can at least identify it for the point?

Calophasia lunula

Thank you, Tol!
Flaxseed grew there, though not quite in the neighborhood.
The caterpillar, by the way, is quite large: four centimeters.

This is not a caterpillar, but a sawfly larva (this is an insect, such as a wasp). Feed the plant on which it was found.

14.06.2010 20:25, Vlad Proklov

This one is probably a birch tree.

A couple of larvae from Chelyabinsk. Taken on June 15, 2010 The first one evokes some memories of the birch Cymbex, and the second one looks like the larva of some leafhopper. I would be grateful if someone could say something more specific.

The fact that it is a caterpillar of the bagworm Canephora hirsuta is very likely.
True, the building material for the cover is not typical for this type of psychid.
