I'll update Dima's report. We left 11.06. Even on the way, we noticed an almost full moon,as a result, the catch to the light, especially beetles, was minimal. For example, last year-especially in the Don Sands, more than half of the catch was caught.Upon arrival, they began to inspect the floodplain of the Bear, and gradually the picture began to clear up.In the evening, there were soil, wine traps and of course a screen.During the day, fresh nymphalids and a lot of smaller scales flew, I think that it would be interesting for interisovans. We put 12 soil samples, but we got the freshest iestreheri and marginalis, so we had to increase the number. Moreover, when examining the paths at night and in general with a flashlight, nothing worthwhile was found.13.06. let's go to the Frolovsky district, to the Don district. We stopped in luxury places near the lake.Lena, on the one hand-sand dunes under 50 m high, and nearby, just across the road-a long and green old lake. But in the evening there was a fucking bright moon, and it got very cold-steam was coming out of my mouth. In the morning 14.06. we're going to look further. We reached the next lake - there are dunes and numerous floodplain oak forests-in general, like in a fairy tale! But 500 oaks I examined-not a single current one.In this place, everything was fed on the skinny elms.A lot of all sorts of predatory wasps flew, in the evening 4 types of crunchers flew out, in general, it was fun.On light-nor that not took, waited and zhuzhlu, and kalosom, and surprises...sadly..15.06. let's go to the beginning of the route. They began to check the traps, 30 pieces were caught in the wine ones, the freshest kr. a scoop with yellow lower wings-I asked God for forgiveness, although no one flew to the light for all the time, I was already upset!!!In the evening, a funny thing happened-Dima took toilet paper and went in the direction of landing, suddenly jumped up about a hundred meters away and was already running in my direction with round eyes and yelling-I told you-a fly in a glass-to luck!!!It turns out that a marble crunch landed on it,they really wanted to catch them.An interesting beetle, when it flies-it creaks and can be heard 200 meters away, we ran until dark, but caught a series.16.06 in the morning, we went to the beach to pay off before the road,at the same time dug the river bank, amofrons and 3 types of khlenius pleased with their abundance. Time was running out.In general, everything went very well. But it is not clear-why there were no akimeruses, stenokorusov caught only 1 pair(very little), only 1 pc of eruginosa and 1 pc of calosome sycophant, and in a soil trap??? Photos of my mattresses and straightened material will be available later.

Good time of day! I was in the Chuvash Republic from July 24 to 27. I've been fishing for three nights. The nights were cold, the air was bad, the variety was small. In the photo report app.

Even grass snakes throw themselves if they are suddenly caught

25.05.2011
MO, vicinity of Zheleznodorozhny

Already about a meter long basked on a hummock. The soil is mostly tightly packed needles covered with a thin layer of last year's deciduous litter, the grass has not grown yet, there is nowhere to go, the nearest poker under which you can hide is just between me and the grass snake. Well, the snake decided to pretend to be a terribly venomous reptile, raised its head, hissed and periodically rushed in my direction. If you consider that I was shooting from a distance of less than a meter, then the sensations are not very pleasant, especially since I have already bitten my hand once. In my practice, all the snakes I encountered usually tried to fall into the folds of the terrain, if there was such an opportunity.

Dim, this really isn't a viper. Viper snakes are easily recognized by their pupils: they are vertically slit-shaped (almost like a cat). This is someone from the snake-like: the pupils are round (in the second photo it is noticeable well). I showed you the vipers in the Pools on May 2. Here is the report: http://molbiol.ru/forums/index.php?showtop...dpost&p=1482561 Snakes must be able to distinguish: in our difficult life can be useful

Well, the season ends in the floodplains, yesterday I was with my family on the river.Oka, in the Tarussky district of the Kaluga region, only a few beetle specimens fell into traps during the week, almost nothing was caught under the garbage and under surveillance-several cichruses and 3 bembidions, and just a week ago it was necessary to choose - what is necessary-what is not necessary, 3-4 species of different whiteflies flew, and some freshest pigeons by the dozen over dried swamps and puddles. The abundance of wasps is amazing this year, there have never been so many before.

I went to Storozhevka (Saratovsky district).
There is nothing more depressing in the world than the steppe at the end of August frown.gif

In the place where there was water until recently, whole thickets of salt marsh aster (Tripolium pannonicum) suddenly grew. In the root neck of the aster, I picked up a lot of larvae of the last age, pupae, under-mature and strengthened imagos of the weevil Baris spitzyi Hochhuth, 1847 (http://www.zin.ru/ANIMALIA/COLEOPTERA/RUS/barspiza.htm). Goal completed!
I threw all this stuff into a plastic container. I hope that at least some of the pupae will produce beetles.

I went to Storozhevka again.
I didn't take a camera, so I need a written report)

Sifted sod taken from the steppe from under various plants (mainly wormwood, cereals and kermek). There are quite a lot of animals - all sorts of small ground beetles, spiders, leg-tails and others, but there are few beetles. Got two staffs-Bledius sp. (hefty) and small Astenus sp. (obviously something good), some small Heteroceridae, a couple of Cyclodinus sp. bystryanok, super small Scymnus sp., cool little ?Corticarina sp. (I didn't find them in Polish iconography - my head, pronotum and underparts are bright yellow, while the elytra are bluish-gray). There are a lot of Sibinia beckeri under kermek, and there is also a non-banal harpalus. Well, in the salt marsh aster, I picked up all the stages of Baris spitzyi again, and soaked the thickest larvae in alcohol, because I don't have to eat so much)))

Yesterday I went to the direction of g Tarusa, Kaluga region, to catch chubs,at the same time to see an abandoned quarry.Arriving at the quarry, I found that some freaks were silencing fish in it 10 days ago,and a lot of already rotten fish was lying on the shore-walleye, pike, bream, etc. Some fish were lying on dry places for some reason,I began to look through them and turn them over.Under one I came across such a staphylinische, then I turned over a lot, almost all of them on the shore-not a single one.I switched to rocks and garbage-I got these earwigs.I've never seen such animals before.Well, in the catch-up-blue bembishi, green did not determine who??,and yellow pecilus or amara, a single specimen. This is from the catch for August in the same places. Today I visited the second biotope -3.5 km of rotten fish-along the coast.I found a couple of these staphylins under one of the fish, and only on dry sand, it's interesting-the male is digging a hole, but the female is waiting-until he finishes construction. So the male is piebald, and the female is more black and 2 times larger in size!!!

September 13, southern outskirts of Oryol.

Small trip to the Rybnitsa river. Very warm day, lots of insects. Jaundice hiale
flew out fresh, the third generation. But they were all very small, and there was one very small one, about the size of an Amanda pigeon. Female birch marshmallows fly around dachas.
There are surprisingly many praying mantises. Usually, we have single ones found in late summer, but here you could see several at once. They fly from bush to bush. One plump female agreed to pose.

Yesterday I went to shoot traps in the floodplain of the Oka River, Tarusa district.Leystus, amara, broscus, harpalus, and zabrus also run and fall into soil traps. We got caught in the crowns with rotten fish-a cloud of staffs and dead eaters. We were pleased with 3 pcs of kr. and fresh humator, for some reason it is not often caught in my country. The traps are designed so that the beetles do not get dirty on carrion, but fall into salty vinegar and stink, these are the first tests of the design.

Kostya, in the top row the third-zabrus tenebriodes-female, and many animals were caught so-put 4 walleye 2 kg each, rotten, in a dry place, near the water's edge and put 4 soil ones with vinegar, and broskus, wasps, earwigs and a small thing got there, although there were others nearby. the traps were empty, without walleye, they were all interested in maggots that ate fish, and last Wednesday I saw dozens of South Russian tarantulas there at night, there is a whole colony of them, also ran along the shore and ate fly larvae, I want to note-in a week the insects ate and processed several hundred kilograms of rotten fish-there are only bones from all other types of fish and skins from walleye!
